Under Article 263 of the Constitution, the President can establish an Inter-State Council to coordinate between the Center and the States.
It consists of the following members:
(i) Prime Minister and six cabinet level ministers nominated by him,
(ii) Chief Ministers of all States and Union Territories
Inter-State Council meetings are organized by the Inter-State Council Secretariat to discuss important matters with the Chief Ministers of the states of India under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister.
